Title: lightwave any one?

I have recently set up lightwave on a small windows render farm (we needed windows for 3Ds Max). I wanted to know if any one else has set up lightwave and if you so would you please share how you have set  it up and optmizations if any you have done so far. I am very new to the aspect of rendering (even though I have set up and managed clusters before) so I am trying to understand all the nuances of softwares like lightwave, 3Ds Max etc for a render farm set up.
