Title: Maya, Arnold, and Qube Rendering
Post by: dammit_jim on December 06, 2012, 09:36:41 PM
Howdy,

I want to start using Arnold a my renderer from Maya.
Is there a  Submit script for Maya with Arnold Rendering?
Or is that a custom commandline job.

Thanks,
-Jim

Are you rendering with Arnold directly from your Maya scene file?  Then you should be able to render on the farm by using the "maya" jobtype.

You should contact your Arnold reseller with regards to the license requirements that Arnold will need to render on your farm; you could have the correct licensing for Maya but not for the Arnold->Maya plugin.

Hi - currently the method you describe above is what I am using, but I am having difficulty with some of the scenes that our students are creating. I need to run the kick command on various nodes. I need a lot of help in setting this up - i.e. I have zero idea how to either setup a CmdRange for Kick... and I have even less idea how to write a SimpleCmd for Arnold kick rendering.
