Title: Qube! 5.1 Released!

?With this 5.1 release of Qube!, we have taken the industry trend toward modern Python scripting and opened our GUI to be fully customizable, allowing artists to see exactly what they need to see to manage their jobs in the most efficient manner,? said Scot Brew, PipelineFX Director of Technology. ?The new Python-based Qube! GUI's streamlined layout is designed to present artists the information they want and need at their fingertips. It also has many new features and added functionality that artists and Technical Directors have been asking for.?   

The new Qube! GUI includes:

• fully python-scriptable interface allows studios to customize GUI for their pipelines
• streamlined layout designed to easily present key information to users and administrators
• single window layout removes need to navigate through multiple windows to find information
• new panels:

• "Farm-at-a-Glance" panel displays worker status summary for the entire farm
• "Output" panel displays output images from jobs
• "Histogram" panel displays task/frame render times

• enhanced and streamlined right-click menus

• act on multiple workers/hosts along with jobs and frames/tasks
• new "retry failed frames" menu to simplify this common action
• submit dialogs are now modal and use standard controls

The new release also provides enhanced application support including:

• Maya ? (updated): Added support for Maya 8.5 and exposed new options
• Migen (New): Support for Maya's mentalray (.mi file) export engine
• 3ds Max ? (updated): Added support for Autodesk 3DS Max 9.0
• MentalRay Standalone (New): New job type to render MentalRay .mi files
• Lightwave 3D ? (New): Supports Lightwave 8.5 and 9.0 on Windows
• Shake ? (updated): Added support for Shake 4.1 on OSX
• Fusion ? (updated): Added support for Fusion 5.1

Qube! 5.1 is available now as a Universal application release for Intel- and PowerPC-based Macintosh computers, as well as on the Microsoft Windows ? and Red Hat, SUSE and Fedora Linux ? platforms.
