Title: OS X /Library/StartupItems script
Post by: ex-centris on August 20, 2007, 01:30:24 AM
Hi there,

Can I put a script in OS X /Library/StartupItems either to mount directories and/or run the worker process as a specific user at boot time, so no matter who's logged in or if nobody is logged in, the worker would parse the job file?

Is this a potential solution and is it possible with Qube?

Right now, I'm having problems with OSX workers which are logged out because directories are not mounted.

Anybody out there willing to share such a script with a non scripting guy?

Thank you,

Reno

Unsure, samba mounting tends to require a specific user to do so.  However there is a method to automount NFS directories on OSX.  You could probably use the same netinfo method to do the same.  Although if I remember correctly, you already do.  Have you tried netinfo first?

Googling "netinfo" and "samba" turns up:
