Title: Configuring sender address for email notices
Post by: jonathan on February 22, 2008, 07:39:47 PM
Is it possible to configure the address the supervisor uses to send emails to something other than qube@mydomain?

Thanks,
Jonathan

have you configured the supervisor email settings using the configuration gui?
the only issue I have is that even though I fill in the Administrator field, it still sends it from qube@correctdomain.com

hopefully development can fill us in?

I too need to have Qube send from a specific email address that I can define.

From closely reading the Administration.pdf several times i believe mail_administrator is for who Qube notifies if there is a system critical event, NOT from whom the mail is sent.

Hi all,

Thanks for your inquiry, and sorry that this forum question has been overlooked.

On the supervisor machine, in the QBDIR/etc/ folder (/usr/local/pfx/qube/etc on linux, C:\Program Files\pfx\qube\etc on windows, and /Applications/pfx/qube/etc on Mac), you'll find a few plain-text email template files, named job.mail, subjob.mail, etc.

You may edit the "From:" line of these template files to get the effect you desire.

I hope that helps... Thanks!
-shinya.

Shinya,

I am about to get Qube to start sending emails in our deployment.

If I recall, previously Qube had a bug where the defined  From: address you reference was merely spoofed, that the email was actually sent from qube@company.com.

Has this been fixed?

Thanks
