Title: After Effects path location from which file?
Post by: jon1320 on January 20, 2009, 09:47:54 PM
Hi,
I'm rendering AE 7,8,and 9, and as of right now we have a lot of CS4 work to be rendered. Qube want to use CS3, but it's not compatible rendering a scene made in CS4. There has a to be a file somewhere that I can change for CS4 being the default AE, and get everything working.. I'm running XP 64 PRO, and I've already tried changing the job.conf in jobtype/aftereffects directory.

Hey,

You need to add the CS4 path on the workers either to the "path" environmental variable, or add to the  "app_path" variable in the job.conf file found in C:->Program Files->pfx->jobtypes->aftereffects directory.

That worked, Thanks.

Before I posted here I changed that file's app_paths from C:\program files\adobe\After Effects CS3\Support Files\ to After Effects CS4\Support Files

And because I'm on a 64bit machine I added the program files (x86)\ and A reboot seemed to make it work.

Thanks

Jon

How do you make this path adjustment in OSX 10.5?

On OSX, the aftereffects "job.conf" file is located under:
     /Applications/pfx/jobtypes/aftereffects/job.conf

If that directory is not there, then please install the aftereffects jobtype, downloadable from our ftp server.

The CS4 path to set in the "app_path" will most likely be:
    /Applications/Adobe After Effects CS4
