Hi! Thanks for your inquiry.

Moving forward with Qube 7.0 , we strongly recommend against customers to be directly dealing with the DB.
Instead, we suggest that you use one of our APIs to pull in data that you're after.

Feel free to open a support ticket at our HelpDesk for further assistance.

Greetings, all!

We have discovered that the supervisor DB migration process from Qube 6.x to 7.x, from MySQL to PostgreSQL, can fail if the Qube 6.x supervisor has gone through upgrades.

We have patched the export_data_from_mysql.py script, and also added an additional required SQL script, fix_mysql_column_orders.sql, and made them available
for download on our "db_migration_tools" download page at http://repo.pipelinefx.com/downloads/pub/db_migration_tools/ .

If you're having difficulty importing the data into PostgreSQL, please (re-)download both of these files and start over with the updated instructions available at:

General / Re: Arnold frame progress
« Last post by Kevin MacPhail on November 20, 2018, 12:02:52 AM »
Hi Eric,

If you look at another job submission like the "Aerender (AppFinder) Job" you might be able to reverse engineer it.  To pull the progress of "3" from a line like:

PROGRESS: 00003 (3): 2 Seconds

...it uses a regex_progress that looks like:

'^PROGRESS:.*\((\d+)\): \d+ Seconds'

If you need more help with this please feel free to open a support ticket and we will help you out.

Cheers,

-Kevin

« Last post by shinya on November 19, 2018, 11:53:12 PM »
Today we have released the 7.0-2c and 6.10-1a patch versions of Qube!

7.0-2c is a maintenance release which includes a few key fixes to the supervisor, core, and
worker, and is a recommended update to all 7.0-x customers.

Specific to Windows, it also includes a change where all modules and binary
files have been rebuilt against a version of Perl that has been built in-house
from source.

IMPORTANT: A note about Perl versions on Windows workers
--------------------------------------------------------

For Qube 7.0-2c, Perl v5.26 is the only supported version on Windows, and must be installed on
all workers. All other versions of Perl are unsupported.

----
6.10-1a is a Windows-specific release of only the supervisor and core packages,
and includes library modules and binaries rebuilt against a version of Perl
that has been built in-house at PipelineFX from source.

IMPORTANT: A note about Perl versions on Windows workers
--------------------------------------------------------

For Qube 6.10-1a, Perl v5.16 is the only supported version on Windows, and must be installed on
all workers. All other versions of Perl are unsupported.

General / Arnold frame progress
« Last post by ericcunha on November 19, 2018, 11:25:21 PM »
Hey everybody,

I'm fairly new to Qube but am in the process of automating some things for a studio I'm at right now. One thing I can't seem to figure out is how to output the Arnold frame progress to the stdout log. Has anyone had any luck with this?

I've tried typing in something like ".*% done" in the regex_progress field on the submit dialog, since Arnold outputs the progress like so:
00:00:15   937MB         |     5% done - 38 rays/pixel
00:00:16   938MB         |    10% done - 21 rays/pixel
00:00:16   938MB         |    15% done - 50 rays/pixel

Unfortunately, this didn't seem to do anything. Is this just the wrong regex to type in? Do I need to do something else?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Today we have released the 7.0-2a maintenance or patch version of 7.0-2 for Qube!.  This is a supervisor-only release that includes a few key fixes, and is recommended for any site currently using a 7.0-x supervisor.

The highlights from those fixes are as follows:
  • timeout value set via the API routine qbsettimeout() now respected more accurately
  • race-condition can dispatch the same agenda item to multiple instances
  • "running_monitor" background thread/routine would sometimes try to verify instance-worker combinations that don't exist in reality (and sometimes even non-existent instances), then put those instances back to "pending".
  • supervisor install fails on Windows where .py files are not associated with the python interpreter
  • supervisor fails to register dependencies of some jobs at submission, due to DB ERROR: duplicate key value
