Windows 7 workers flaky with Cinema 4D
« on: April 13, 2011, 08:33:31 PM »
Some of our workers are running Windows 7 and when running Cinema 4D jobs we sometimes will get the following...

INFO: running cmd: "C:\Program Files\MAXON\CINEMA 4D R12\CINEMA 4D 64 Bit.exe" -nogui -frame 73 73 1 -oimage "\\path\to\image" -oformat TIFF -render "\\path\to\file.c4d"
COMMAND: "C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe" /C ""C:\Program Files\MAXON\CINEMA 4D R12\CINEMA 4D 64 Bit.exe" -nogui -frame 73 73 1 -oimage ""\\path\to\image" -oformat TIFF -render ""\\path\to\file.c4d""

The document is clearly there, the other nodes see it fine, and if i restart the worker service on the flaky node it will render that same job just fine.

We've only seen this on Windows 7 workers, Server 2003 and XP64 workers humming right along.  We've also only seen it with Cinema4D jobs.

Any ideas?

2 things to check:

* Is User Account Control disabled on the workers?
* Do the jobs have the "disable windows job object" flag set?

disable windows job object is checked
UAC is set to "never notify"
