I'm working with Farm-at-a-glance, and I see a couple of ways to make it more effective. First, there's a lot of wasted space - a large farm creates a long scrolled list of circles (machines), to no particular advantage. What about a more tightly packed grid? Second, there's no roll-over on the machines themselves - it'd be nice to know which machine one is looking at, and/or being able to select it (and highlight the machine in the list). Third, it'd be nice to be able to create different filtered views - non-locked machines, non-down machines, etc - just like the filter buttons for the Host/Worker layout.
Also, take a look at Hobbit (
http://hobbitmon.sourceforge.net) which provides some very nice host monitoring functionality...
