Worker doesn't show as "down" when I shut down the service.
« on: December 07, 2007, 10:54:13 AM »
Hello,

When I open the interface " qubegui 5.2.3", the list of the active and inactive knots displays.
If I switch off physically a knot, he always remains active in the interface, even if I click on refresh.
The status always stays on " idle, state actvive "
It is impossible to trust this list.

It is a question can be of a bug?

Hey pme,

The supervisor passively detects down hosts.  This is one of the ways the supervisor reduces it's network traffic footprint.  It's not a serious problem for the worker to be marked "active".  The supervisor will mark the host "down" once the supervisor tries to contact it again.

We'll be adding a feature to allow the worker to report it is shutting down in a later version.  However for now, the quickest way to force the supervisor to mark the host down, is to submit a job into the farm.

    Thanks,
