XSI Workgroup Shaders with xsi batch jobs
« on: November 19, 2008, 07:40:03 PM »
Hi,

I am trying to render a scene which uses a shader from a workgroup located on our server. If I render that scene from XSI, it works allright. If I enter the commands directly into a command shell, it is working, too. But I can not render the scene using the qube XSI Batchrender type.

I get the following: ERROR : 2000 - Unable to create object

Curly allready tried to help me here http://support.pipelinefx.com/smf/index.php?topic=545.0, but unfortunately his solution was not mine.

I tried to modify the setenv.bat (set XSI_WORKGROUP_SHADERPLUGINS to my workgroup), but it didn't help.

I gave all rights to the qubeproxy user, but that was not the problem, either.

Does anybody have another idea?

Thanks for reading and helping,
laschmoove

Hi laschmoove,

Would you be able to send us a zipped up copy of the full joblog folder for a sample job that failed to our support email address?

Please put an appropriate subject to the email, and also mention this thread's URL.

Also, it might help if you can provide us with a sample scene file that fails consistently.

If the zipped files is large (> 5MB), we'll need you to upload it to our ftp
site instead of emailing it to us, so let me know.

Thanks!

Thanks, Shinya for your help!

For everyone else, this is what solved my problem:

I had to log in as qubeproxy on the renderslave, start XSI and load our workgroups manually using the plugin manager.

Best,
