update to 5.4 - 80% of nodes 3x's slower

Hi Everyone.

We've updated our supervisor and linux farm to 5.4.

2 of the 10 linux machines continue to work at full speed, but 8 of them are now 3 times slower than normal. The linux boxes at 64 bit still out pace the mac's but it's awful to see only 20% of the systems at full speed.

Anyone with any ideas?

SLOW NODES FIX:
as quser, set Maya 2009 Parallelism configuration for 8 cores:

1.
launch maya

2.
switch to render view

3.
add mayatomr in the plug-in manager

4.
select render with mental ray - at the bottom of the render menu

5.
select batch render setting / deselect auto Parallelism / change to 8
