There's a bug in the v6.4-0 release of the new _3dsmax jobtype which provides support for Max 2013.
Due to the many changes Autodesk made between Max 2012 and 2013, we would have had to re-write so many portions of the 3dsMax jobtype that it was considered safer to release an entirely new jobtype that's new from the ground up. But the ".0" release snuck out with a bug in it, which results in the following message appearing in the stderr logs:
Can't locate File/HomeDir.pm in @INC (@INC contains: ......
This will be patched and published within the week, but in the meantime you can do 1 of 2 things
1.) if you're not running Max 2013, you will find a "legacy mode" checkbox in the Max options submission window (will need to check "expert mode" in the Max submission UI to reveal the option). Checking this will skip the offending section of code. Max 2013 requires non-legacy mode, so you'll have to use option 2 if you're running 2013.
2.) Install the patches to the jobtype manually. If you install the 2 attached .pm files into the _3dsmax directory on the workers (ensuring you make copies of the original before overwriting), it should allow you to run non-legacy mode, and not have to use legacy mode for previous versions.
