The browse options for 'Project Dir' and 'Render Dir' do not work properly in the Submit->Maya Job  dialog.  The browse option also does not work properly in the submit dialogs for the other job types where you need to choose a directory.  Choosing an existing directory is not possible.

I'm using the latest Qube GUI 5.1-1

We can look into it and see about fixing any issues for next release.  What OS are you using so we can validate it?

The issue has been looked into.  It was determined that there are known polish issues with the GTK widgets used on Linux for the DirDialog with wxPython.  Windows and OSX behave intuitively as expected.  Linux widget behavior is not as intuitive.  The same dirdialog behavior can be seen with the wxPython demo apps.

On Fedora Core 5 it does work. You have to press the "Browse for other Files" button to get the full directory browser.  However on SuSE 9.2 one is unable to "pick" an existing directory.  Not sure about the other flavors of Linux though they would likely fall into one of those two camps.

This dirdialog selection bug has now been logged with the wxPython Developers as Sourceforge case 1720890.

Our goal is that the wxpython team will address this SuSE/CentOS in a timely fashion so that the functionality can be passed along to our QubeGUI Linux users experiencing the issue.

Did the wxPython team ever release a fix for this? We are using redhat with Qube 5.4.0 and we still encounter the problem that the file browser does not work when browsing for directories.
