Mac OS X Server 10.6.5 Warning
« on: November 11, 2010, 09:24:13 PM »
Just a warning...we needed to apply the 10.6.5 update for other non-qube reasons on our supervsor.  Qube and 10.6.5 do not play nice together.  Going to roll back to 10.6.4...

We've not yet seen this release (10.6.5).

In what way don't they get along?

Ok.  Sorry to be alarmist.  Just makes me nervous when a relatively routine dot release makes my Supe go poof off the network.  :o

It appears that the Mac OS X Server 10.6.5 update plays some games with your firewall settings.  Mine were set back to default.  Opening up some ports for Qube and everything is back to normal so far.

Testing 10.6.5 client now...

Don't you know?  There's no such thing as a relatively routine dot release when it's OS X...  <smiley of your choice here>

Check out http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/11/11/mac-os-x-10-6-5-update-list-of-problems-after-installation/

Although I upgraded by own mbPro to 10.6.5 yesterday and had no issues.  But I did do the install from SafeBoot by using the Combo Updater d/loaded from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1324.

I never use the Software Update to do point release updates; too many things to go wrong.

We've now updated several OSX client / workers without issues.
