Qube! memory usage reporting
« on: April 30, 2007, 04:18:13 PM »
On one of our new render nodes with 8 processors and 16G of ram, Qube "sees" all the processors but only 4095M of ram.   Could this be a 32bit version issue, and if so, if we are using Maya 64bit, does it really matter?   Put another way, since Maya 64bit is capable of exceeding the 32bit memory threshold, is it using all the memory and Qube just doesn't report it, or does the 32bit Qube supervisor put some memory restriction on that machine?

hey Arenyart,

Yes, the worker itself can't track the memory, however since maya sees it, it can take advantage of it.  Technically unless you place a memory restriction on your job, qube! doesn't check for memory availability before it starts your job.

     Thanks,
