Qube Supervisor tcp problems with Leopard
« on: April 04, 2008, 02:31:00 AM »
Hi,

I've installed Qube 5.3 Core and Supervisor on a Mac server here called dropbox with ip address 192.168.1.1 on our hub. File sharing and all network settings are on on both the worker and the supervisor machines and all other file sharing seems to be working. The Firewalls being completely disabled for both supervisor and worker. I've tried on both the supervisor and worker machines editing the /etc/qb.conf LINE 402 to have qb_supervisor = dropbox and 192.168.1.1

In each of these cases I cannot get any jobs submitted and get the following errors:
ERROR: unable to establish tcp connection with 192.168.1.1 - unable to connect to host.
ERROR: udp receive socket timed out.
supervisor - down.

Any ideas? Something simple I missed I hope,
-d.

Hi David,

If you're able to ping the Supervisor machine from the worker machine as normal, you might want to check to make sure the Supervisor daemon is running on the machine.

To restart the Supervisor, you can run

/Library/StartupItems/supervisor/supervisor restart

from a command line.

Hope this helps!
