Support for VRay?
« on: March 29, 2007, 06:45:49 PM »
Hello,

We are in the process of evaluating cross-platform render management software.
We currently use 3DsMax9 and V-Ray 1.53
Are you planning on supporting V-Ray or is it already supported? We want to use Linux on our farm machines for stability, the smaller memory footprint  and of course price.

Thank you,

Alex

Hello Alex,

Thanks for your interest in Qube!

Our software does work with the 3dsmax/v-ray combination.
You just need to "Assign" the v-ray renderer as you would normally do in the "Render" dialog,
save your file, and submit to Qube!

This of course assumes that 3dsmax/v-ray are set up to run properly on the farm machines--
there is not a version of 3dsmax that runs on Linux, or any render management system
out there that render 3dsmax jobs (or v-ray) on Linux.
