abnormal holdup on a specific frame
« on: June 28, 2008, 07:24:40 AM »
1. We launch a XSI job to 13 dual quad core render servers. Some servers will render the frames in average 30 seconds but sometimes a server will take 10 hours to render one particular frame. It seems it got stuck on that frame and cannot move on for whatever reason. Is there anywhere in qube we can set a Timeout so that it can skip that frame and move on to the next frame?

2. The same case for sending a job. Sometimes we send out a job before we leave the office but the next day we come back, it actually have problem getting started and still being hold up in the 1st frame, while other servers didn't even start to render. Rather than manually Kill the job and choose Retry, is there anyway we can set a timeout of the job when it got hung up and let it retry a few times automatically?

Thanks.

Hi foureyes,

We are not sure what can be causing the frames to stall, and will need to have a
look at your job logs to start with.  Please send support@pipelinefx.com an
email describing your issues, and attach a zipped copy of one of your job's log
folder, found on the supervisor machine (/var/spool/qube/job on Linux,
C:/Program Files/pfx/qube/job on Windows).  Please also mention this
forum thread, and include its URL:
