Using qube! with mental ray
« on: January 18, 2005, 10:09:26 PM »
We are starting a short project which will require us to use mental ray instead of the maya renderer.? Up to this point we've exported the sequences as .mi files to a directory, then used a set of scripts to distribute those files across the farm and render.? We would like to start using qube! to distribute the rendering of the .mi files, I was hoping you might have some suggestions from previous experience or know of pitfalls to avoid.

Thanks

Kevin

Hey Kevin,

In terms of Mental Ray, since it is a command line renderer, there are no issues which we are aware of.  Submission of these can be easily accomplished by just using busy.  We're currently working on a Class 1 job type to handle Mental Ray rendering and will be releasing it soon.

      We'll keep you posted.

Thanks,
